Heidi currently manages the Hot Docs Film Funds where she oversees Hot Docs’ investments in Canadian and international documentary films. In this role she works with filmmakers from around the world on their projects. Also, as the Industry Programmer, Funds & Deal Maker at Hot Docs, she curates the Deal Maker program, a competitive pitch meeting program for producers seeking international financing from key decision makers in the market. Heidi has a background in producing and developing fiction and nonfiction for film and TV, including supervising 30 hours of documentary television, and short fiction. She has programmed and produced conferences with marquee speakers, such as the Toronto Screenwriting Conference, as well as programmed over over 350 hours of content with WIFT-T. Heidi has earned a number of industry accolades such as the Bell Media National Fellowship, CMPA Telefilm Producer Trainee award, Trailblazer award by ReelWorld Film Festival, and the WIFT-T CBC Business of Broadcasting Mentorship Award. Heidi is an alumnus of the Producer’s Lab at the Canadian Film Centre. If there is spare time, she devotes it to reading books.
